RICOH has been producing advancements in image processing technologies for digital cameras for many years. During that time, we have been developing an AI dataset that pairs 360° images from the RICOH THETA with high-quality images from RICOH GR digital cameras. The results are the development of an intelligent image processing technology that greatly enhances the quality of an image.
This technology was presented by Ricoh Group researchers at the OmniCV (* 2) workshop at CVPR2020 (* 1), a major international conference on computer vision, held on June 15, 2020. We announced the result of our activities on super-resolution technology for 360° images using AI.
